Head Coach: Vickie Dugan

(16th season)

Vickie Dugan is entering her 16th season as Porterville College women’s softball coach. Prior to her career at PC, Dugan was the head coach at Oregon State University from 1988-1994.

She has the second-longest tenure in the history of OSU’s softball program. Dugan landed her first college head coaching position at Nebraska Wesleyan University. She was also a graduate assistant at Utah State University.

For the 2009-10 school year, Dugan’s PC team was recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association as an All-Academic Team based on a cumulative grade-point average of 3.289 - 11th in the nation.

Dugan played college softball and volleyball at Fort Hays State University in Kansas. The two-sport star was named one of the “Outstanding College Athletes of America” following her junior and senior seasons. She later became an instructor at Western Nevada Community College, and for six years worked as an activities director for National Camps for the Blind in Utah. Her career also includes coaching at the high school level and with several summer teams.

Dugan graduated Magna Cum Laude while earning two bachelor’s degrees (music; health/physical education and recreation) at Fort Hays State University. The prestigious honors program of “Who’s Who Among Students” recognized Dugan for her outstanding scholastic achievements.

She received a master’s degree in physical education from Utah State University. Over the years, she has been invited to speak to different organizations, including the American Association of University Women and at the national meeting for the Women’s Sports Foundation. Dugan, recognized at PC with an Educator’s Award, currently teaches physical education classes.
