Industrial Maintenance Technology Training Program

The Industrial Maintenance Training Program at Porterville College is a two-part, 9.5 credit training program that consists of approximately 335 hours of training in a variety of areas including:

  • Electrical Control Systems
  • Residential and Commercial Wiring
  • Electrical Motor Control
  • Hydraulics
  • Pneumatics
  • Piping systems
  • Welding
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)

The Industrial Maintenance Training Program at Porterville College is a two part, 9.5credit training program that consists of approximately 335 hours oftraining in a variety of areas. Coursesare held in the evenings and prepare the student with the skills necessary for entrance into the Industrial Maintenance workforce.

 

 

P050—Industrial Maintenance (5 credits)
This course consists of 198 hours of classroom and hands-on instruction that will prepare students with skills in electrical wiring, electrical control systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, piping systems, motor control and basic welding. This course or equivalent is required before entry into INDT P051 Industrial Maintenance II.

P051—Industrial Maintenance II (4 ½ credits)
This course consists of 135 hours of instruction that builds on the foundation of skills developed in Industrial Maintenance I. This course prepares the student with both classroom and hands-on instruction in mechanical drives, pneumatic maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, electrical sensors, welding and programmable logic controllers.

After completing both courses, the successful student will be able to compete for entry-level positions as industrial maintenance technicians as well as other related positions.
