Welcome To The Learning Center

The Learning Center supports Porterville College's Mission by offering academic support to students at every level of skill and ability through peer and faculty tutorial services and a supervised learning software lab.

If you are on campus, come in and see what is happening in the Learning Center, located in LRC-503 in the Learning Center Resource building.  We have had many changes over the past couple of semesters.  In our lab area, we continue to offer self-paced lab classes.  Our reading and writing lab students are now using MyReadingLab and MyWritingLab.  Our math lab students are now using MyMathLab and ALEKS.

We continue to offer tutoring in a wide variety of subjects.  In addition, instructors from the Science/Math and Language Arts divisions are available to assist students.  Come in and see which of our services will best suit your needs.

Clinics

What are Clinics?

Clinics are short workshops that provide instruction and practice in the skills necessary for students to succeed in a variety of academic subjects.  A math clinic, for example, might offer strategies for overcoming "math anxiety" or teach calculator skills.  A language arts clinic might focus on avoiding sentence fragments, or developing proofreading skills.

There are no Clinics currently scheduled.
