This page provides the prospective biology major with a schedule of classes offered at Porterville College and designed to prepare you for transfer to a 4-year college or university.

* Courses listed above are for biology-major transfer preparation as well as IGETC.  The IGETC is a general education program which community college transfer students may use to fulfill lower-division general education requirements in either the UC or CSU system.

** If 2 years of the same foreign language have not been completed in high school, then 2 semesters of the same language must be completed to fulfill the IGETC.

*** To fulfill PC graduation requirements, one of the Area 3 or 4 courses must be an ethnic studies course, 2 credits of physical education are required (if under age 21), and Education 101 must be completed.

Note:  Individual plans will vary depending on the particular 4-year institution to which the student plans to transfer.
